Macaroon has always been one top on my very long list of this to know and master. I've bought the ingredients for awhile. I guess i scared myself to much and really believe that this is the hardest thing in the world to make, next to making puff pastry. That is another wall that I need to climb. It's always so silly to think about you fear of failure after success.
The 1st hurdle for me was making sure that the dough was right. I was thinking what if its wrong? How do i know if its under worked or over worked? I took a deep breath and piped the first disk, was happy enough that it did spread out as it should!! I wasn't to happy with the size of the disk on the 1st tray. But what the heck right, its my very 1st tray. I was determine to get it right on the 2nd tray.I wanted to continue piping the disk on my 2nd tray, but I was still not sure that the dough is right, I waited awhile to feel the top of the disk on my 1st tray. So far so good!! Still cant believe that everything is going good, with mix feeling I placed the 1st tray in the oven. First 5 minute the macaroon didn't so any sigh of foot. When I finally saw them, I was stoked!! I squealed and jump in the kitchen!! I felt like making a victory dance, but i haven't invented them yet so i just raise both of my arm while jumping like a happy monkey.
Next was getting the disk all the same size...well that is still work in progress, but i will get it right the next time. I'll be experimenting a few flavour before i open for order ;) Enjoy the picture for now peeps ;)
